Overview

EFT, (Emotional Freedom Technique), is a rapid and effective way to release anxiety about different situations by tapping on acupressure points around the top half of the body.  The first time I discovered EFT I wasn’t a fan as it didn’t work for me in the same way I was seeing it demonstrated, to remove pain.  A few months later I came across it again, being used to remove fears and anxiety and it clicked, it worked and I was a convert to the wonderful technique of EFT

 

What can EFT be used for?

EFT can help you to quickly remove something simple like a knot in your tummy from maybe drinking too much caffeine or a deeper fears and anxieties.

EFT can help you to remove

  • Stressful work situations
  • Fears of social gatherings
  • Before a presentation to give
  • Remove exam stress
  • To help you sleep
  • Procrastination

These are just a few examples, though virtually anything that you are worried about or anxious about can be resolved with EFT.

Why is Ruth now a fan of EFT?

At the time Ruth came across EFT being used in a completely different way, to remove emotional pain, she was suffering with PTSD, (post traumatic stress disorder).  Conventional therapy had failed to help, and had only deepened the trauma.

Ruth taught herself how to use EFT and cleared all of the anxiety and fear that was keeping her a prisoner in her own home. Since that day she has sworn by this wonderful method to remove her own and her clients anxiety and fears.

How long does EFT take?

That’s a bit like asking how long is a piece of string.

Depending on the depth of the individual anxiety it can take a few minutes to remove it or longer. It really depends on how imbedded it is and what other anxieties are linked to it.

Generally you find that the problem you begin tapping on is rarely the real cause of the issue. As you remove one anxiety other connected fears come to the fore. we remove them all until the original anxiety and the roots are banished.

Could I learn EFT and then do it myself?

Yes, Ruth would absolutely encourage you to learn the method so that you can use it yourself as and when the need arises.

The tapping points are easy to learn, however knowing how to phrase the issues so that you successfully remove the fear or anxiety and all it’s roots is crucial to allowing EFT to work.

It’s not a good idea to tap on an issue without being taught the different techniques for success first or you could be wasting your time and think that this wonderful method doesn’t work.
